Who we are

This website is run by Speedy Spanners PTY Ltd ("Speedy Spanners", "we", "us"), a family-run mechanical workshop at 2426 South Western Highway, Serpentine WA 6125. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you deal with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

We only collect information we need to look after you and your vehicle. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

  • Your name, phone number and email address
  • Vehicle details such as registration, make, model, year and the work you'd like done
  • Booking details, such as your preferred date and whether you need us at the workshop or mobile
  • For Department of Transport inspections: the exam type and reason, and the documents you provide (for example licensing records, permits, weighbridge dockets and photo ID)
  • For vehicle drop-off: which key tag or lock box you used and any concerns about your vehicle
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in a message, email or phone call

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes and confirm or change bookings
  • To carry out work on your vehicle and keep service records
  • To book and complete Department of Transport vehicle inspections
  • To take payment and keep the business and tax records we're required to keep
  • To improve our website and understand which of our advertising works

We don't sell your personal information, and we won't send you marketing unless you've asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it's needed:

  • Wix.com, which hosts this website and stores the forms you send us
  • The Department of Transport (WA), when we carry out a vehicle inspection for you
  • Parts suppliers or other service providers, where needed to complete your job
  • Anyone we're required to share it with by law

Some of these providers, including Wix and Google, may store information on servers outside Australia. We use reputable providers that protect personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Like most websites, this site uses cookies and similar technologies. We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising — for example, counting when someone sends an enquiry or taps our phone number after clicking one of our ads. These tools may collect information such as your device, browser, the pages you visit and your approximate location. They don't give us your name.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage how Google uses information for ads at adssettings.google.com. Links to our Facebook and Instagram pages take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
